10,500 people in the UK have ataxia which is a progressive neurological condition that disrupts the messages sent from our brains to our muscles that are used to move, speak, listen and see. Ataxia UK funds research into finding treatments and a cure and provide support until they are found.

Story

Total: So far we have raised an astonishing £700 in PayPal donations! That means our current total raised so far is £1020, please help us to make even more!!

I'm fundraising for Ataxia UK. You may not have heard of Ataxia, as only 10,000 people in the UK have the condition. My Nanny is one of those people. I'm running the Sheffield Half Marathon to raise awareness and money to fund much-needed research.

‘Ataxia’ is an umbrella term for a group of neurological disorders that affect balance, coordination and speech. As a result, people with Ataxia can have difficulties speaking, swallowing and walking. There is currently no cure, but with more research we can find one.

I've never run anything near this distance before, so it's a little daunting, but I am channelling by Nanny's perseverance and determination and will call her when I cross the finish line.

You can donate via PayPal directly to me, https://www.paypal.me/emrisley (@emrisley) Your donation can then be doubled as a family member's employer will match your donation! Or you can donate right here on Just Giving, although your amount will not be doubled.

Please donate anything you can to help people in the UK living with this rare condition.
