Story
Over the last few years I've learnt how important caring for our own mental health is. I have experienced first hand and through friends/family just how difficult getting help for mental health disorders can be and how difficult treatment is.
In Britain in any one year, 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem. This is more than the yearly cancer diagnosis rate. Yet many counselling services and CBT centres are being shut or moving to part time hours due to lack of funding. Not to mention NHS waiting times...!Manchester Mind are trying to pay for new services free to Manchester residents, but they need funds to help do this. Manchester Mind not only support local services, they also campaign tirelessly with MIND to raise awareness of mental health disorders and get more recognition for mental health services in the UK.
So please, dig into your pockets and sponsor me whatever you can. The price of your coffee this morning, or some money for each kilometre. Also don't forget to click gift aid if you're a UK tax payer.
I'll keep you updated over my training and how all 3 of my races go!
Thanks for all your support :)
