Story
Hi Everybody,
Your eyes are not deceiving you - I really am climbing 3 mountains!
I tried to find a picture that presents me in a sporting nature, that would make you feel confident to hand your money over in safe knowledge that I will achieve this with no difficulty. Unsurprisingly, there is not one in existence - instead, I choose to put one up of me quaffing champagne. Something I will be doing far less of in the months leading up to May, as my weekends will now be spent traipsing around scenic Watford, rather than vegetating in my bed.
I, along with 14 colleagues will be climbing the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales. Starting with Ben Nevis before heading south for Scafell Pike and then finishing at Snowdon. The challenge is all the more tough as we must complete the whole lot in 24 hours.
We are doing this to raise funds for The MND Association, a charity that has become increasingly important to us after a very close friend lost her father at the hands of this terrible disease last year. MND is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks the upper and lower motor neurones. Degeneration of the motor neurones leads to weakness and wasting of muscles, causing increasing loss of mobility in the limbs, and difficulties with speech, swallowing and breathing.
We have a target of £15,000 and all money raised will go to this charity to help fund research in the cause, treatments and care of those unfortunate enough to get this disease so please dig deep and donate now.
Thank you for your support!
