Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have set up this page in memory of my mum who suddenly passed away in 2000 of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and Pulmonary Embolism at the age of 59.

Before she died, I had never knew exactly what DVT was or how it could kill someone. Since then, I have found this wonderful charity who are working tirelessly to raise awareness and 'Stop The Clots' through education and research.

Lifeblood has provided me with some information which includes the following stats:

Anyone at any age can be at risk of blood clots.
You are more at risk if you are in hospital - especially for major surgery, but even those who are likely to be immobile for long periods of time can be at risk.

DVT's account for one in ten deaths in hospitals - an estimated 25,000 deaths a year. In context, that's more than breast cancer, AIDS and road accidents combined.

So let's try and 'Stop The Clots' - please help me raise some money for this fantastic charity in the name of my wonderful mum.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you. :)
