Story
As you know, Tom was a wonderful human being. He died of a heart attack whilst cycling in Kazakhstan in August this year. In his memory, there will be a collection for the charity Sightsavers. It is a charity he particularly favoured as his sight was so poor and he was always so careful of and dependent on his glasses. Having been in Kenya for two years, he was keenly aware of how lucky we are in the UK to have the NHS to sort out eye problems and provide glasses for those that need them. Sightsavers is a UK-based international charity which fights avoidable blindness, and promotes equal opportunities for visually impaired people. It also supports surgeons in their cataract operations in the field in countries on many continents, including Africa.
