Story
JUST A NOTE; this is no longer a fundraising page JUST for the London 10k, but also for the Run to the Beat half marathon on Sept 25th. I will take a snapshot of fundraising stats when I run the london 10k and let everyone know how much was raised from that event, and then it's time to kick it up and more fundraising for the next one!
Hi, if I've linked you to this page then a lot of you probably know my story. On May 26th 2009 I was hit by a car when travelling to uni (http://bit.ly/gNIDcv is news story)
If it wasn't for the Surrey Air Ambulance, I most likely wouldn't be alive today. They airlifted me to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel where I was helped very swiftly by the trauma team there. I owe my full recovery and my life to them.
I started running as part of my recovery. I'm running a few races in the near future- the Bupa London 10000 is the first one, on May 30th. The Run to the Beat half marathon I'd really love to eventually collectively raise at least £2000 for the Surrey Air Ambulance as that is the average cost for them, every time they rescue somebody. Yet in paying it forward, I'm shooting for £4000. :) The air ambulance receives no government funding, they are entirely reliant on donations.
So help me pay it forward and enable them to save someone else :)
