Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Back in December my dad jokingly said to me that I wouldn’t be able to run a marathon. I told him he was quite correct but I could run a half marathon. The stubborn side of me decided that I was going to do it and show him that I actually could. Now here I am… in a pickle but I’m doing it and even proving myself wrong because I didn’t actually think i could do it 😂
I am running Bournemouth half marathon in October. Back in January I’d never even run a 5km! I reluctantly joined Cranbrook Running Club - School Gates Couch to 5km and what a journey it’s been! I’ve met the most amazing group of ladies that are now all joining me in Bournemouth too. We’ve completed the C25K, smashed a 10km and now training for the half!!
There has been so many times I’ve wanted to turn back time and tell my dad is was quite right that I couldn’t run butttttt what I’ve actually gained is so much more. I am actually really proud of myself! I am so lucky to have the most amazing support network.
So here is to the next hurdle. I would be so grateful if you could help me reach my £300 fundraising target for SANDS (Stillborn and neonatal death charity). I am sure you are all well aware that me and Simon have suffered several losses and it felt really important to me that I supported a charity that meant something to me. While we have suffered early losses Sands works to support anyone affected by the death of a baby; improve the care bereaved parents receive; and create a world where fewer babies die 💛
