Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running the Birmingham Great run to raise money for the Birmingham Children's hospital. Many of you will know that our  son James has been quite ill over the last year  and still is being treated there regularly  for his Crohns disease.

We have been so impressed by the staff and the hospital- it is such a special place where  James has been made to feel  at ease as well as receiving excellent care. He continues to be so well looked after it has motivated me to do something I have never done before- run a half marathon!  The furthest I have EVER ran is 6 miles(when I was at my fittest!!!) so this is a big challenge for me.

100% of the money I raise will  go to Birmingham Children’s Hospital. I would like it to go to the medical or surgical day care wards.  Together BCH are aiming to recruit 2,014 runners to help sick children and their families when they need it most.

About the charity

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.
