My running mojo has disappeared this lockdown as events have been cancelled so time for a challenge to get me out that door. I appear to have signed myself up for the P24 - The Longest Day challenge with a difference to mark the longest day of the year!
The concept is simple - starting at 8.00am you run 1 mile at any pace you like. You can run out and back, up and down your road, round the block, in your garden, even on a treadmill. Then at 9.00am you do it again, any pace you like. Same again at 10, 11, 12, 1, 2......on the hour, every hour, 1 mile, run, walk or crawl, you get the idea. And repeat for 24 hours, running your final mile at 7.00am, on the hour, on Sunday 21st June.
As an extra incentive, I have decided to raise funds for BDMLR Orkney so we can buy essential rescue kit such as whale and dolphin rescues pontoons and life jackets/hard hats for the volunteer medics. At present, the Orkney team has very limited kit so any funds raised will help supply the essential kit we so desperately need.
Please help!
