Story
I'm joining Scope's Lockdown Legends and taking on an epic fundraising challenge this February!
Over 14 million people in the UK are disabled and they have been amongst the hardest hit by Coronavirus. Scope is needed now more than ever. Their services are seeing unprecedented demand, their helpline is providing a listening ear and their online community is keeping people connected through lockdown.
The pandemic has been devastating for Scope. The charity has seen its 195 shops close, fundraising events cancelled and marathons postponed. During lockdown, Scope's income has fallen by around £1.2 million a month. I'm fundraising so Scope can continue to be there for disabled people and their families during the pandemic and beyond.
My challenge is to make 100 different origami creations in February. This will mean learning and folding around 4 new designs every evening. I’m going to attempt to make an origami camel for the grand finale. I watched a man make one of these in Japan in 2001 and I was totally awestruck. It took him over an hour, and he’d been folding since he was a child. I have no idea how to do it, so I have 28 days to learn! I’ll be filming this and will post my video (speeded up!) for those of you who are interested. I will send any origami pieces to the highest donator(s).
Please support me in my challenge!
