Along with my husband David, our 2 girls and other members of our family, I'm taking part in jdrf's walk to cure diabetes.

Jdrf is the leading type 1 charity, committed to researching, treating and finding a cure for type 1 diabetes. As our daughter Lily was diagnosed in december 2012  aged 5 with this condition, jdfr is a charity extremely close to our hearts.

Type 1 is an autoimmune disease, in which the bodys immune system believes the cells which produce insulin do not belong to the body, therefore attacking and destroying them. Multiple daily insulin injections, blood glucose checks and counting of carbohydrate is essential to maintain health.
