Story
Over the weekend many people have completed all types of 2.6 challenges to raise funds for charities who due to Covid-19 have lost significant income due to the cancellation/postponement of fundraising events.
So I have decided on Tuesday to try and do my bit to help. I will be attempting, probably foolishly, to run 26.2km in aid of Cavendish Cancer Care.
Cavendish Cancer Care is a local Sheffield charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living with cancer. They provide emotional and physical support through counselling and therapies for cancer patients, carers and their families.
My mum has previously worked for the Cavendish Centre, so I know how valuable their work is, particularly their Young People's Service which offers specialist support to young people, whose lives have been affected by cancer.
They are continuing their support to people over the phone and via video link but as a small charity the impact of Covid-19 has been significant.
Any donation however small would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Emma
