Story
I think we can all agree that the past year has been a challenge for all of us. Likened to being in a storm with everyone being in their own unique boat. Unfortunately in September when I thought things couldn’t get much worse for me and my family I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. After showing barely any symptoms apart from small lump in my neck it came as a huge shock.
Hodgkin’s lymphoma is one of the most common types of cancer in young people, but before September I had never heard of it. After completing 11 out of 12 sessions of intensive chemotherapy I should finish my journey on the 11th of March.
I can’t thank my amazing medical team enough and all the staff at the teenage cancer trust and UCLH for all of their support especially during these weird times. And a special thank you to Virginia my teenage cancer trust nurse and Meena my CNS who have been there for me during this difficult journey.
My family, friends and myself will be walking 10,000 steps everyday throughout March to raise money for this amazing charity. Fundraising has been very limited this year for all charities and so any donation will be greatly appreciated.
