Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am going to be growing my hair until the 30th January 2015, by then I am hoping to be able to donate a minimum of 8 inches of hair. I am doing this as part of keeping my granddads memory alive. My Granddad loved children and he always said as long as the babies were happy, he was happy. I am hoping to make a little girl or boy somewhere happy and confident even though she has no hair and is having or has had cancer treatment. I saw how ill the chemo made my Granddad, he had very little hair anyway but he lost the very little he had left.
I know how much I love my hair and I cannot imagine what it must do to a childs confidence when they lose their hair on top of being so ill and having to have such awful treatment. This is going to be a challenge for me as I have been growing my hair for a number of years, I love my hair long and I do not like having short hair, but if I can make a child happy and more confident then it will be well worth it.
Please note that I will not be shaving my head. The little princess trust ask for the hair to be tied with a hair band at the top and the bottom before it is cut off. I will therefore cut the hair short and have it styled.
I am asking for people to donate to this charity so they can keep providing FREE wigs to children.
I will be paying for my haircut myself and will not be receiving anything from the charity as an incentive, the incentive for me is to bring a little joy to a child with cancer.
