Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I must be absolutely bonkers but I am taking part in the Yorkshire Marathon on 12th October, I am not sure if I will run the whole thing but I will certainly give it my best. I am doing this for a number of reasons, firstly to raise vital funds to support the ongoing growth and development of Forget Me Not Children's Hospice, secondly as testament to the amazing individuals and clients who go that step further to support our Hospice and finally in memory of my friends little girl Rowan Poole who bravely lost her fight with Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 1b (SMA) at the age of 18 months old. My close friend Sarah Poole, Rowan's mum (and her family and friends) have tirelessly fundraised over the last 18 months and so far raised in excess of £41,000 to go towards The SMA Trust to aid on going research into the number 1 genetic killer of children under the age of 2 years old. Please see www.teamrowan.moonfruit.com for more information any ways to support Sarah, Rowan's memory and the SMA Trust.
Working at Forget Me Not Children's Hospice as the Head of Corporate Fundraising is the most inspiring and challenging role and I meet so many amazing people every day that I am humbled to be part of the team. As a mum to two young boys, Logan and Flynn I cannot begin to imagine what our families go through day in and day out, caring for children with life shortening conditions, and by challenging myself in a small way over the coming months I hope to raise funds in support of the amazing work we carry out, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
