Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the Brighton Marathon in 2019 in honour of my dad who passed away from Lung cancer in February 2018 after a year long battle. I have decided to raise money for the Roy castle lung foundation because the research they are doing will one day help lung diseases be caught much earlier than they currently are. One of the main issues with my dads diagnosis was it was made too late for curable treatment to be given. Early detection is key for survival of lung cancer and unfortunately he was only prescribed palliative care. The Roy castle foundation have launched a lung MOT in Nottingham to help detect lung diseases early and they have had some great results which have helped save peoples lives. They hope to make this available across the county so any lung disease, not just cancer, can be caught earlier. They have just been granted funding from the NHS which is amazing and I hope this means more people will be diagnosed earlier so they have a chance to live their lives. Please take a second to read their website and see for yourselves all the wonderful things they are doing.
Any support or donation would be greatly appreciated by myself.
Thank you
