When Emma ran an entire 10k

When Emma ran an entire 10k · 13 December 2018
Hello,
In September I ran the Lichfield 10k to raise money towards Cancer Research, after a colleague was diagnosed with a rare cancer.
Lots of you so generously donated and sent lovely messages of support - all of which were in my head on race day and kept me motivated.
Unfortunately there was an error with my original fundraising page and I was unaware it had closed, and those who kindly donated have been refunded this week. I have started this page (all properly linked to Cancer Research this time!) and am hoping all of you who were so generous before will be able to (and willing!) to submit your donations again.
As punishment for this error, I have shared the photo above - this was at the very end of the race, I was pushing to sprint finish, but had woefully underestimated how far it was and was not a happy bunny at this point, so if nothing else enjoy the awful photo.
I managed to complete the race in 1 hour 7 minutes, after firstly hoping to just get round the course, then hoping to complete it within 1 hour 15. There were days over that insanely hot summer we had (remember that?) where training was tough, and shin splints a couple of weeks before the race also made the final training runs hard going.
It was all so worth it though to run across that finish line knowing I had lived up to the promise to run a 10k for charity.
If you did donate before and have been refunded, and would like to donate again you have no idea how grateful I will be (plus surely it guarantees you're on Santa's nice list!)
Thank you.
