Story
Considered one of Britain’s toughest outdoor challenges, the National 3 Peaks Challenge takes in the dizzy heights of Ben Nevis (1,344m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowdon (1,085m).
Over the course of two days (with very little sleep in order to finish the challenge on time), we will trek around 26 miles and ascend to a total height of almost 3,000m.
Our chosen charity is Bloody Good Period (CIVA is the organisation that currently supports Bloody Good Period's fundraising) which aims to eradicate period poverty and supply menstrual products to women and children in the UK who cannot afford them. Sadly, for many people living in poverty, sanitary products are seen as a luxury and instead they resort to using toilet paper, old scraps of fabric or nothing at all. Visit www.bloodygoodperiod.com for more information.
We are dreading the challenge already; training definitely needs to step up a notch! However, we are determined to raise awareness of the period poverty issue within the UK and would thoroughly appreciate any donation you are able to make to this incredible charity and the work they continue to do.
We will let you know how we get on!
Thank-you,
Emma & Clare xx
