I am doing the Paris marathon on 7 April 2013 and I wanted to raise some funds whilst taking on a personal challenge. There are many deserving charities but having seen some of the work which Make-A-Wish do, I knew that this was an extremely worthwhile cause which changes the lives of many families. The charity works with terminally ill children and their families by granting magical wishes to children and young people facing life-threatening conditions. More than 8500 wishes have been granted so far in the last 26 years and the charity hopes to grant more than 1000 wishes this year. For many families the memory of the wish granted can be the last happy memory they have of their child or sibling having fun, rather than memories of painful treatment and hospitalisation. 

I'm sure you will agree that this is an extremely worthwhile cause and that you can't put a price on seeing a smile on the face of a brave child who is facing a life-threatening illness; and on helping families to be a part of a fantastic, happy day making their child's wish of a lifetime come true while they have the chance. Most wishes cost around £4,000 to grant but every little donation helps towards making a life-changing difference to a young person's life. So please dig deep and donate now.
