Story
In August 2012, aged 37, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 bowel cancer. At that time I had about a 1-in-2 chance of still being alive 5 years later.
So it seemed appropriate to celebrate beating the odds and still being here ten years later by doing a fundraiser for Bowel Cancer UK. Those who know me know I do half marathons as a hobby, so the chance to do ten half marathons in ten days seemed appropriate. From 9 to 18 April I’ll be turning up every morning at the towpath at Walton-on-Thames and running (walking!) my laps to get the miles done.
The horrendous situation in Ukraine is rightly getting people’s charitable giving right now, and I don’t want to take away from that. But if you can spare even a pound more for the charity that fights this disease, I and Bowel Cancer UK would be hugely grateful.
And if you want to come and support me, I can’t wait to see you there!
