My Mum was diagnosed with Cancer in her early fourties, after 11 long years of ups & downs having appointments, scans, treatments including Surgical operations, Chemotherapies and Radiotherapy, she continued to stay strong ,positive and kept that smile on her face.

Mum always put everyone else first and was a very considerate and kind person and to me the perfect role model.

Her brave battle with cancer sadly ended in May 2012 a day after her 51st birthday which she got to celebrate at Farleigh.

She really enjoyed spending Thursdays at Farleigh Hospice ,especially joining in with arts & crafts, activities, having treatments with the beauty therapist and generally just being around the lovely friendly caring team, I know she had great memories from Farleigh and I do aswell from the times I visited.

I am doing the 22km Farleigh walk for life because I want to celebrate what would of been mums 52nd birthday weekend and marking the sad memory of losing her 1 year ago.

It will be a personal challenge and most of all I want to give back to Farleigh and thank them for giving my mum those cherished times
