We provide specialist hospice care to people living with a terminal illness

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I started running when my mum got a cancer diagnosis and now I can’t stop… I have completed 5 marathons now for Macmillan, sadly my mum died 2020 but she’s left me with a great legacy.

I used to run past Simone and Yvonne in my boutique and wave and occasionally pop in.

It was a shock when I heard about Yvonne:

Yvonne was diagnosed with ovarian cancer on 24 December 2020 she had an operation and chemotherapy in 2021 and things seemed to have gone well, but in May 2022 Yvonne was given the worst news and  she went into Thames Hospice on 19 May 2022 and she was there for 15 weeks until she sadly died on 1 September 2022.

I felt very sad as I know what it’s like when your mum dies and decided I would like to run a marathon for Thames Hospice in memory of Yvonne. I went to visit the Hospice and I was blown away with how amazing it is I took a tour all over the hospice to give me an idea of what I am raising money for - it is a very special place.

From what Simone said her mum loved it in there, she met Anita  Dobson and Princess Anne.

I love running and I love raising money for special charities so if you are able to donate to this fantastic cause I would be so grateful
