Have you ever heard of walking with the wounded?
Some of you would have and some not so much. That was me I'd only heard of them once in passing, that was untill i got talking to a friend and we got to talking about the current and past conflicts and charities and they mentioned "walking with the wounded" and how they were doing charity work for them but were struggling a bit raising money as not alot of people had heard of the charity so that got me thinking we do such a great job supporting help for heroes why not spread the "love" and help out a charity that also supports and rehabilitates the wounded, sick and injured ex servicemen and women in education and vocational courses to help them re-intregate in the work place and who work with a number of different corporates who are looking to employ with the right qualifications ex servicemen and women .so we have come up with a way of helping out in our own way and would love to have your support as we take on the lyke wake walk.
So let me tell you a little about what we plan to do.
It's called the Lyke wake walk.
It's a 40 mile walk from Osmotherley to Ravenscar. The official challenge is to complete the walk within 24 hours. The non-official route follows the high lands of the moors where originally the corpse bearers took their grizzly loads. We've earmarked it for march-april time so we can do some training for it.
Your donations will go toward "Walking with the wounded" to help our ex servicemen and women.
