As you might well know, I have run the London Marathon several times... but this year is different. I am running to raise money for a very special cause - the Princess Alice Hospice. 

Before the covid pandemic, my father spent many happy afternoons at the Hospice's aptly named "Man Shed" - as an alternative to more formal support, it allows people (men and women!) to come together and spend time with others in similar situations; and the "Shedders" also make beautiful products which are sold to generate income for the Hospice.

He also worked as a volunteer in the Barnes branch of the Princess Alice Hospice shop - and thoroughly enjoyed the social interaction and community support this brought (even if probably more chatting than retail actually took place...).

Unfortunately circumstances were such that he didn't spend his final days in November 2021 at the Hospice as we had all expected - but they had taken good care of him in other ways over the years, and continue to provide a supportive and compassionate environment for so many - patients and their families.

So please do donate and help the Hospice to continue providing this support.
