Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Hi, I'm Emma. I'm a student living in Edinburgh, completing a BSc Hons degree in Radiotherapy. Before beginning this course, I would never have imagined myself taking on such a huge challenge as that of Kilimanjaro, however i have since come to realise two things. One, that life is too short. I'm fit, young and healthy so why not climb the highest freestanding mountain in the world?! haha Two, that research changes lives, and has done for so many, but that there is so much more that can still be done. People diagnosed with breast, bowel and ovarian cancers and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma are today twice as likely to survive for at least 10 years as those diagnosed in the early 1970s, according to new figures released by Cancer Research UK. This is down to the great work of researchers and the support of generous donators. However there are cancers such as Kidney and pancreatic, that still have very low survival rates, and often do not present with symptoms until it is too late. Research into how these cancers behave and how they can be detected earlier, could save lives! So please, please join the fight against cancer, and support research.
Any donations, however small would be greatly appreciated
Thanks! :)
