Story
I am running the Bath half Marathon on 15th March to raise money for Wiltshire air ambulance in honour of my cousin Gareth Hicks who sadly lost his life in a RTC over 5 years ago and my brother-in-law Andy Williams who is currently continuing his fight at a rehabilitation centre after a RTC nearly 2 years ago, they both received care from the Wiltshire Air Ambulance. The care they give is incredible and as a family we are forever indebted to them so I feel like it is my turn to give something back.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance is solely operated from charity funding. It costs 7.5 million a year to keep their air ambulance flying, that’s over £10000 per day. No matter how big or small your donation is, it will help keep their service operating. Wiltshire Air Ambulance is operational up to 19 hours a day 365 days a year.
Anyone that went to school with me will know I came last in the 1500 Metre in year 11 so I am certainly not a natural runner and it has never been something I’ve enjoyed so this has been a real challenge for me mentally and physically.
