Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to set myself a personal challenge of swimming 6 miles in 6 weeks to give me something to push myself through the coming cold weeks and to raise money for the wonderful charity close to my heart finding furever homes. Some of you may not see this as much of a challenge but to me it is a very big one. 2 years ago I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and M.E and have been suffering with the condition for longer than that. I suffer with chronic fatigue and chronic widespread pain amongst a whole long list of other symptoms. I'm also a carer for my autistic son which as you can imagine takes up a lot of my time and energy. Since having the condition my fitness has deteriorated, I couldn't go to the local supermarket for a small shop without needed the whole next day to recover from it, so around 6 months ago I decided to take back control and start swimming regularly. At the moment I only swim once maybe twice a week but this challenge will see me swimming twice that amount. I also would like to add that i don't drive so will be walking to and from my local pool which is a challenge in itself. Knowing that i am doing this for the absolutely gorgeous dogs of FFH who all need furever homes will definitely keep me going especially on the very cold mornings! I am looking forward to taking on this challenge and kicking fibromyalgia in the butt!!
