Hello! I work at a nursing home and some of our residents suffer from dementia. It is often heartbreaking, more so for the family and friends that have to watch their loved ones slowly deteriorate.

This is for our residents, their nearest and dearest and it is for Terry Pratchett, one of my favourite writers- he was the last damn straw. Here's a word from him about it:

"It occurred to me that at one point it was like I had two diseases - one was Alzheimer's, and the other was knowing I had Alzheimer's...."

"The baby boomers are getting older, and will stay older for longer. And they will run right into the dementia firing range. How will a society cope? Especially a society that can't so readily rely on those stable family relationships that traditionally provided the backbone of care?"

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Now please give us your money.
