Story
Thank you for visiting my page. We are raising money for Arthritis Research UK (formerley arc), by taking part in a 26 mile walk over the Three Peaks in the Yorkshire Dales. We hope to cover Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough and the distance between in 12 hours! Keep your fingers crossed for us! The reason we are raising money for Arthritis Research is to support the brilliant work they do nationally providing bursaries for scientists and Rheumatology practionners to research what is important to their patients , improving treatment and outcomes for people who develop any form of Arthritis. This is really important as Arthritis affects approx. 20% of our population and a diagnosis of any inflammatory type such as Rheumatoid Athritis can for-shorten a persons life by 20 years. If monies can be used towards improving drug treatment and information to patients and those teams that work with and for those who have Arthritis we can hope for better outcomes in the future. We are also doing this walk in memory of our friend Elizabeth Baker who died last August from a rare lung disease linked to Rheumatoid Arthritis. She dealt with the disease in a quiet and determined way, never giving up. We will have this in mind on 17th April. If you would like to sponsor us before or after this event please use the Just Giving page. Thank you.
Wow! Thank you for all your sponsorship so far. We did it! On 17th April we had the most glorious weather and stunning views helping us to complete the walk in eleven hours ten mins. Under twelve hrs entitles you to become a member of the Three Peaks Club. I hope this may inspire you to keep giving or even take up your own challenge, because it's worth it!Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
