Story
I'm climbing Mount Snowdon in aid of The Myton Hospices to help them raise vital funds! They are hoping to raise £27,000 in sponsorship this year so they can continue providing their services to people with terminal and life limiting illnesses, and their families, over the festive period.
Every month they need to raise £758,333 so they can continue to provide their services free of charge for the people of Coventry and Warwickshire, now and in the future.
I have seen first hand the amazing work they do when my “Big Cus” Barry spent even just a short amount of time towards the end of his life in their amazing care. Not only did they show care and compassion to Barry, but also to all of us as his family and friends who visited him during his time there. They have also continued to support his wife and children since. Something that I know would mean the absolute world to him.
Here’s a look at the difference the money raised will make:
- £50 will fund two hours of specialist nursing care in Myton’s hospices
- £84 will fund a patient’s meals for a week
- £106 will fund a Myton at Home nurse to visit a patient
- £162 will fund 10 children’s bereavement counselling sessions
- £406 will fund an inpatient bed for one day
- £2,000 will fund a patient specific recliner to enable patients to spend time out of bed
This is sure to be an amazing yet emotional experience as we reach the summit at sunrise, in memory of someone we love and miss so very much. I’m also doing this in memory of those who are sadly no longer with us as we continue to keep them in our thoughts and hearts everyday.
To then know that this is for an amazing cause makes this even more important and special to me.
Thank you for any support you can give
