Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year i will be running my 1st marathon on the 8th April at Manchester, the training is going to be tough on the mind and body but not as tough as what my two friends had to endure in 2017.
In 2017, my good friends Graham and Richard got to ring the bell on beating prostate cancer, this was with the help and support of an amazing centre, the Yorkshire cancer centre.
A statement from Graham on his time at the centre.
Hi Emma
You briefly touched on the subject last night of raising money for the treatment of cancer and one of the things that touched me in the course of my treatment at the Yorkshire Cancer Centre was how much it was supported by local businesses and members of the public. Both have raised money to support the centre in the purchase of equipment and to enhance their facilities and during my daily visits there, I noticed that their current appeal is to buy a new MRi Sim Machine. Apparently, the purchase of this machine will put them at the forefront of cancer treatment and research in the world.
Below is a link to the page on their web site which has a video about this new machine. The machine shown on that page is like the one which treated me.

I found the centre to be absolutely brilliant and if it can be supported, it will help maintain the momentum to drive up the success rate of treating cancer and not only that, but it will help keep motivated all those lovely people who work so hard every day treating those of us who were unfortunate enough to develop cancer. After all, it must be more satisfying to go into work and be operating state of the art machinery that gives the best possible outcomes, rather than some clapped out old machines that you know were not quite up to the job in this modern age.
When I watch the MRi Sim video, it takes me back and there are many faces on there who I used to meet every day. It also took me back to the "ringing of the bell".
