Story
I was never a runner. But in January 2021, to survive another Covid lockdown, I decided to do Couch to 5k. I can honestly say it's been one of the best things I've done and works wonders for my mental and physical health. After managing the Manchester 10k in 2021, me and a group of mates somehow signed up to this year's Manchester Half Marathon (22nd May) and then the temptation of the GNR became too much....... So, here I am, running two half marathons in the space of five months like a crazy person!
To give something back for all the benefits I've had out of running, I've decided to run both events for Action for Children. It's an amazing charity working with vulnerable young people in the UK, helping to tackle child poverty, providing mental health programmes and generally supporting children and families in need. Knowing myself what it was like growing up without a lot of money and with the current cost of living crisis, kids need these kinds of services now more than ever. So I hope if you've got this far you will give what you can 😊
