Story

This year I have decided to take on the 20K Sunrise Walk, in the hope to raising money for Shooting Star Chase children’s hospice. The charity care for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions, & their families. Whether lives are measured in days, weeks, months or years. They support families from diagnosis to end of life and throughout bereavement with a range of nursing, practical, emotional and medical care.

Our Story

On the 1st October 2013 my beautiful little Niece Anais entered into the world and all for a second things were perfect, but then things changed.

Within minutes of being placed in my sisters arms, she was taken away and rushed into intensive care.
What was to be the happiest moment of her life, soon turned into a living nightmare.

Anais spent spent the first few days being transported from one intensive care unit to another, with each hospital saying they could not give the answers that were needed & further test had to be done.
That week turned into months, then into a year in the wonderful hands of Great Ormond Street Hospital.

To this day Anais still remains undiagnosed.

She is completely "Technology dependant’ & without it, she would not survive.

Anais is a complex and unique little girl. Her health is extremely unpredictable. Unfortunately, Anais spends the majority of her life visiting hospital’s for appointment’s or having to be admitted for investigations or medical treatment.

Anais is very privileged to attended Shooting Star Chase Hospice, where she is provided vital respite care, that gives Sarah time to recharge & to spend quality time with Anais older sister Freya.

It's been a long painful journey of ups and downs & despite the best efforts received from the medical team’s involved in Anais’ care, my sister may never get the answers she so want’s and need’s.

One thing we know for sure is, Anais is a little fighter. She has shown  courage and strength in everything she does.
She's a beautiful, intelligent little 8 year old girl of whom we are so proud of!

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE give what ever you can to this worthy charity. Without the love and support they provide, our lives would not be the same.

THANK YOU!!!! xxxxxxxxxxxx
