Amber, and I have decided to sign up to the 'Race at your Pace' challenge for January. 

The aim of our challenge is for Amber to run 30 miles across the month of Jan, and mine is to run 50 miles. 

I personally haven't run for quite a long time, and Amber has never really been a consistent runner. Therefore, this will be a challenge for us both. 

We initially signed up to this challenge for our own benefit, and to give us a personal goal for the month. However, after having a discussion about what we are doing, we have decided to try and raise a little bit of money to help our amazing local charity  Willen Hospice. 

Willen Hospice provides specialist end-of-life care for adults, focusing on four key areas: specialist symptom control, emotional support, spiritual support and care for carers.Often the most distressing aspect of living with life-limiting illnesses is the types of pain and symptoms which can arise. Our team of dedicated staff and volunteers can give compassionate, specialist support to patients, and their family members, to help deal with, as they wish to, the physical and emotional effects of both their illness and treatments.

After such an awful year in 2020, we realise it has been difficult for Willen Hospice to raise crucial funds to help keep the charity going.

So this is our way of trying to help a little :) 

Amber is only 10 years old and already has a huge passion to help other people where she can. We are very much looking forward to getting out and running together, and at the same time knowing we are having a small impact on helping this wonderful chairty!
