Pilgrimage Walk
Campaign by Dorothy House (RCN 275745)
Walking from St Johns Church Keynsham and finishing at Bath Abbey your pilgrimage will take you through some of the most iconic, peaceful and breathtakingly beautiful sites in the Southwest.

Story

On leaving St Johns church you'll walk along the riverside before joining the old railway cycle path to St Marys Saltford. From there you head uphill across farmland to the historic Kelston Roundhill, with stunning views across Bristol to Wales. You join the Cotswold Way briefly, which takes you to another panoramic viewpoint at Bath Racecourse. This is followed by a couple of miles of level walking across farmland before you begin the descent into Bath. Tucked into the hillside above Bath, St Marys Charlcombe is the oldest ecclesiastical building in Bath still in use today. In St Marys peaceful garden youll find a holy well fed by a fresh-water spring. The final stretch of the route includes Baths architectural gems: the Royal Crescent, Circus and Assembly Rooms, finishing at the Abbey.
