Story
Hello everyone,
Welcome to our triathlon fund raising page. Emily, Sean and Lee are all taking part in this year's London Triathlon in the team relay event. Emily will be swimming, Lee will be doing the bike leg, and Sean will be finishing off the race with a 10k run.
Emily has been involved with this event on behalf of Concern for 3 years now and each year we have been able to make a massive difference to communities in (building a health centre and constructing new schools in rural parts of the country) . This year will be different as we focus on .
The 14 year long civil war claimed 200,000 lives and wrecked livelihoods. One of the unseen consequences of the war was the complete loss of vital farming knowledge – mothers simply no longer have the know-how or skills to grow food for their children. This year’s triathlon fund will support groups of vulnerable mothers in 10 extremely rural communities to grow more food so they can feed their families themselves. The money raised from the triathlon will support families with quality seeds and tools so that they can grow and harvest their own vegetables for themselves and their families. Concern will also provide the women with the practical training and advice they so desperately need so that they can grow and harvest their own crops – restoring their dignity after the long civil war. The funding from this year’s triathlon will make a difference to families and communities for many years to come. By helping our teams to raise as much money as possible, you will be making a real and lasting impact to communities left with nothing.Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
