Story
On 20th March 2011 I will be running 13.1miles in the Reading Half Marathon to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
My stepfather, Don, was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in August 2001 and passed away in May 2006. Don was a very special person to me and I want to do something to help contribute to a cause that might help other people with this disease.
The survival rate is one of the lowest for all cancers with a 3% chance of survival of more than 5 years and less than 20% of more than a year, 80% of those diagnosed will die in the first year and these figures have remained unchanged for 80 years however this form of cancer only gets 1% of all cancer research funding in the UK.
So if you feel you can, please donate something to motivate me to get training and do the run! Thank you so much.
