Story
Thank you for taking the time to have a look at my just giving page!
Running the London marathon has been on my mind now for about 8 months, so you can only imagine the excitement to find out that I have been successful in earning a place in the marathon for the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB). I am aware of the amount of training that now must take place to get me round the 26.2 mile course in one piece and I have also pledged to raise the RNIB £1900 towards the fantastic work that they do every day.
One of my close family friends, Ken is 101 years old (seriously!!) and has lost his sight over the years. The RNIB have supported Ken in such a way that he can live life without worrying about his sight loss. The have done this by supplying Ken with talking books for him and his wife, Elsie to enjoy every night before bed. He has also been supplied with an electronic portable magnifier to assist him in reading the RNIB specially printed TV guide to make sure that he never misses the BBC Proms or Olympia - he loves the dressage events.
Ken is only one of so many that the RNIB do an amazing job in supporting people with a loss of sight the chance and allow them to live life fully and as normally as possible. Any money donated will be greatly appreciated and go towards a very deserving cause.
Thank you, Emily xo
