Story
Anyone who knows me knows that running does not come naturally to me. I have tried and failed to complete Couch to 5k on more occasions than I care to admit. I apply for the London Marathon every year, half hoping that I won't actually get a place.
However, this year, my luck has changed and I have been fortunate enough to receive a ballot place. So, on the 23rd of April 2023, I will be running the London Marathon to raise money for the Stroke Association in honour of my wonderful Nan, who suffered a haemorrhagic stroke in February 2021 that very sadly and suddenly took her from us. My Nan was my little friend; funny and full-of-life. In fact, she would have found the prospect of me running a marathon highly amusing!
Stroke Association fund research to find ways of preventing stroke along with finding better treatments. It helps to provide services to support stroke survivors to make the best recovery possible, and campaigns for improvements in care for people affected by stroke.
I know that times are a little tricky at the moment, but if you are able to donate to this fantastic charity, I would be incredibly grateful.
Thank you,
Emily x
