Story
Marie Curie provides care and support for people living with any terminal illness across the UK. Our nurses work night and day in peoples homes and our hospices offer specialist care. We also support people emotionally, provide practical information, and match them with trained volunteers.
Hello its Emily here👋, as many of you know i am a very keen sportswomen and through lockdown I have been very keen to keep fit and strong🏃♀️⚽️🏏💪. Please read on to see how i plan to push myself to support Marie Curie🌻 ....
Since my Great Grandad Joe died 8 years ago we have raised money for Marie Curie as a family but over the past 12 months most of our fundraising plans have been cancelled. Marie Curie supported my family when my grandad was very ill. He was desperate to be in his own home with his family who he loved. Marie Curie helped my Great Grandma Eun and Grandma Tina to make sure this could happen. They provided nurses to sit with Grandad through some nights, to give the family a rest even though they were only upstairs they had the peace of mind someone was there just to chat with him if he wished and could call grandma down if needed. It also meant I could sit on his bed and eat a Chinese takeaway with him (this was his favourite), I would stand on his bed and brush his hair and put my clips in it to make him laugh.
People need these wonderful nurses and carers, Marie Curie rely on fundraising to help them continue to help others, these are difficult times but please help me raise much needed funds for Marie Curie so other families can benefit from their support as we did. 🙏🙌
I aim to run 🏃♀️60 km through the month of February for this cause, I am definitely up for the challenge!
If you feel able, please support me, every little helps.
