Story
Thanks for visiting our JustGiving page. This September, Rosie, Emily and Katie are raising money at the Shine Night Walk to help Cancer Research UK, beat brain tumours sooner.
As many of you will know Rosie and I lost our wonderful sister, Sally, to a grade 4 brain tumour in June 2013. She was just 39 years old and had the rest of her life ahead of her. When we learnt of Sally's illness we were determined that between us we were going to fight this traitor. But, we soon learnt that Brain Tumours are a relatively rare form of cancer and for this reason we were told not much had been done over the years to develop drugs or new treatment for this disease.
Sally was exceptionally brave and gave everything to fighting the cancer, but it was too strong. So, for this reason, we want to raise as much money as possible to help Cancer Research develop more ways to help fight this disease.
Each year in the UK, over 9,400 people, including around 400 children, are diagnosed with tumours that start in the brain or elsewhere in the central nervous system. But they can be hard to treat and around 5,000 people in the UK lose their lives to the disease every year. This is why Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work must continue.
Please dig deep and sponsor us. Every pound you donate will help fund their life-saving work.
