Story
Just when you thought it was safe... WE'RE BACK! Oh yes! Look out gang, this year we are even more aware of the limitations of our joints! After a busted knee at 10 miles last year and a huge effort required to get over that finish line, we are even more determined to power around this year. So, a huge thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
As a warm-up race, we will also be taking part in the Cardiff 10km on 3 September so think of this as a 'donate to one race and get one race free' :0)
If you have a few coins spare, the 3 of us would be grateful for your support!
There's been a breakthrough for the treatment of sarcoma this year - the first time in 7 years there has been a new drug licensed for treatment! And Sarcoma UK was involved in this research which means that if you've donated in the past, you too have been involved in helping to find a cure! It's a step forward!
We are raising funds to help Sarcoma UK, the only UK bone and soft tissue cancer charity, to raise awareness for early diagnosis and research into this form of cancer that took the life of Lisa's oldest chum's son Adam Jones in May 2014. Adam was a former Cardiff University student who was a fit and healthy 22 year old until Ewing's Sarcoma struck. Your support up until this point has helped us raise over £22k for Sarcoma UK in memory of Adam.
We can make such a difference to survival rates in the future by working together which is why we've decided to run the streets of the 'diff in the hope of raising further funds towards the £100k total! 😉
And we are making a difference. Our buddy Erica is living proof that early diagnosis and targeted treatment of sarcomas does work and we are so thankful because she makes our lives so much richer!
