Story
I am running the London Landmarks Half Marathon on April 6th to support the incredible work that Autistic Girls Network do, an organisation dedicated to raising awareness and creating support for autistic girls.
Running doesn’t come naturally to me, I find it challenging and uncomfortable. But for two hours, I will willingly push through that discomfort as a small glimpse of what autistic girls experience every day. Living in a society that wasn’t designed with their needs in mind often means daily struggles to adapt, fit in, and be understood.
This cause is incredibly close to my heart. In 2024, my daughter was diagnosed Autistic, and since then, I’ve become aware of the challenges autistic girls face. For example, they often mask their true selves to fit into social expectations, which can lead to exhaustion, anxiety, and being overlooked or misunderstood. These struggles are invisible to many, yet they impact their lives profoundly every single day.
The Autistic Girls Network works tirelessly to change this, shining a light on the unique needs of autistic girls and helping to build a world where they can feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
I am running to honor my daughter and all autistic girls, and to raise awareness and funds to support this incredible charity. If you would like to contribute, any donation, big or small, would mean the world to me and to those the charity supports. Together, we can help create a brighter, more inclusive future for autistic girls.
Thank you for your support!
Every step I take will be for my daughter and all the incredible autistic girls out there, to raise awareness and help create a world where they can thrive.
