Welcome to the Nottingham Trent takes on the Three Peaks Challenge! These incredible students are taking on the challenge of a lifetime all whilst helping in the fight against meningitis and septicaemia.
Hi Everyone!!! My name is Emily Cheung and I am currently a second year Knitted Fashion & Textiles student at NTU. I will be taking on the Three Peaks Challenge this Summer. This consists of climbing the three highest mountains of England (Scafell Pike, 978m), Scotland (Ben Nevis, 1345) and Wales (Snowdon, 1085m) all in 36 hours. I will be taking part in this challenge to raise money for the Meningitis Research Foundation.
The Meningitis Research Foundation aim to defeat meningitis globally by 2030. Meningitis and septicaemia are both life threatening illnesses. Meningitis is the swelling of the meninges (the lining around the brain and spinal cord) caused mostly be germs entering the body. Students are the second biggest at-risk group of contracting meningitis after babies and toddlers however it can affect anyone. More than 2.5million people globally are affected each year. Please visit (https://www.meningitis.org/) if you would like to find out more about the Meningitis Research Foundation.
