Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In November 2011 I was deeply saddened by the loss of my best friend Louise’s Mum, Janet Hudson. Janet was a remarkable lady who, aged 63, had travelled to Sydney to meet her other daughter Caroline’s new son, Pascal, for the first time.
On the morning of November 6 she visited a doctor, but after returning home, her condition rapidly deteriorated. She was taken into hospital and died suddenly at 1pm that day.
Janet was such kind woman who volunteered for charity, and was well-known in the local community. Shortly after Janet passed away Lou, Ian and I came up with the idea of doing some kind of challenge to remember he by, whilst raising money for her favourite charity - the NSPCC.
Subsequently, Lou decided on a 179 mile coast to coast cycle across the North of England – starting on the 28th of September at Walney Island on the Irish Sea and finishing in Whitby on the 30th of September by the North Sea. The three day route passes through the Lake District and The Yorkshire Dales, two of Janet's favourite areas in the whole country, which seems a perfect route to remember her with.
It's pretty hilly, and so will require a bit of training but it's nothing we can't handle!
