Story
My Uncle Bob, one of the most bright, engaging, and fascinating people I've ever known - not to mention one of the most acclaimed fishermen and fly-tiers in the U.K. - recently passed away from this cruel cruel illness.
To see someone, once such an avid adventurer with a real passion for nature and the outdoors - particularly fishing - reduced to such helplessness and indignity is heartbreaking beyond words.
In his memory and so that his suffering and untimely death were not entirely in vain, I've decided to tackle the Thames Path Challenge to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society.
I will be walking 100km from my home of Putney to Henley, along the Thames Path, with just intermittent food/drink stops and no time to sleep. I'm a keen walker - covering around 50-60 miles on foot per week - but this challenge is next-level and the training starts immediately.
I'd be so grateful for any sponsorship you can give, no matter how small it may seem to you.
Thank you from me and from my family xx
