Story
Important update: due to the situation in the Middle East, the planned charity trek in Jordan is sadly but sensibly no longer going ahead.
To mark my training and everyone’s very generous donations, I will instead be walking 75km across London this weekend - with all the fundraising still going towards the lifesaving mental health charity CALM as planned.
Thanks so much to everyone who has donated so far!
-----------------------------------------------
In November this year, I’ll be taking part in a five-day 75km trek across the Jordan desert in support of the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), who are taking a stand against suicide.
That means standing against feeling rubbish, standing up to stereotypes, and standing together to show life is always worth living.
125 lives are lost every week to suicide. And 75% of all UK suicides are male. CALM exists to change this. They do it by provoking conversation, running life-saving services, and bringing people together so they reject living miserably, get help when they need it and don't die by suicide.
THE DIFFERENCE YOU CAN MAKE
- £8 can fund a potentially life-saving call on CALM's helpline.
- £24 can provide support materials for a family wo have lost someone to suicide.
- £109 can equip a volunteer.
- £440 can train a professional helpline worker to speak to people who are struggling.

I would be really grateful for any donation you can make towards this important charity, or your support through sharing this link!
Thanks so much,
Emily
