Story
My grandad was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer caused by asbestosis in 2012. Unfortunately the cancer was so aggressive he rapidly went downhill and was admitted to St Luke's Hospice.
St Luke's provided our family with peace of mind, knowing that our Grandad was being well looked after and being made "as comfortable as possible" (not the nicest of phrases!).
Not only did they look after my Grandad - but they offered counselling and support to the family members who needed it.
The staff there do an amazing job, even on Christmas Day they gave Christmas cheer to my Grandad in the hospice.
My Grandad has always been a supporter and fundraiser of St Lukes, for his 70th birthday he didn't ask for presents, but for donations to the hospice. As he was such a well known man in the Nantwich area, he had lots of friends, which meant lots of donations for the Hospice.
It is with a heavy heart that I write this, 16 months after his passing and not a day goes by when I don't think of him and his daft sense of humour.
So please help me raise lots of money for a brilliant place who do an enormous amount for the local community. :D
