It's been a while since I last raised money for this very worthy and meaningful cause, but now myself and my family are back on track and more determined than ever. The reason we want to raise money for the University Hospital of North Staffordshire (UHNS) is simple; rather than sending £2 a month to a charity and not knowing how it is being used I want to raise as much money possible for a cause close to my heart, and see what difference the money can make. My nephew Izaak is a long term patient at this hospital, like many other young children and teenagers battling Leukaemia. By holding regular fundraising events I am hoping to raise as much as possible specifically  for the Oncology department at the UHNS. Eventually, I intend to organise a sponsored bike ride from Lands End to John O' Groats, but before then - and based on the success of the pub quiz held in December 2009, I am planning another Christmas quiz. Whether those of you reading this can attend this event or not, this page is perfect for donating money to this special cause online.

No amount is too big or too small, every little helps and will mean a great deal to not just myself, but to my sister and brother in law - Justine and Simon, both of whom deserve medals for the strength, bravery and determination they have maintained since Ike became poorly.
