Story

Joe Harris was an amazing person, on whom you could count on for anything and he would never fail to be there for you. In November 2017, Joe was tragically killed in a car accident whilst completing research in South Africa and it was a devastating loss to us all. Since then, in his memory, we have tried to complete a number of fundraising challenges in order to raise money for a charity in his name. Joe was an avid supporter of the charity which focuses on Mental Health support for young people and it is an honour to raise money in his name.

Although I knew Joe through lacrosse, Joe was a triathlete initially and a pretty good one too, having represented GB! Therefore it seems fitting to be doing a triathlon for him. Due to the rather large length of the triathlon, I will be completing it as part of a relay team and be doing the 1.9k swim. Having never swum open water before, this will be a challenge but I am looking forward to it. I will then be passing the baton onto the amazing Tom Salmon (https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/thomas-salmon1) who will complete a 90km Cycle followed by a 21km Run.

As previously mentioned, the charity supports young people with mental health issues, which as some of you know, is also an area very close to my heart. I would therefore be grateful for any support you could give to Joe and this wonderful charity.

Thank you,

Emily
